About Jack J Hutchinson
Jack Hutchinson is an artist, writer and critic. He studied MA: Drawing at Wimbledon School of Art (2006-07), receiving a Professional Preparation Master’s Award from the Arts and Humanities Research Council. He is currently online editor of AIR: Artists Interaction and Representation and a regular contributor to a-n Magazine, Garageland, Twin Magazine and Dazed and Confused.
An expert in social networking and its application within the visual arts, Hutchinson is a visiting lecturer at a range of HE institutions across the UK. He most recently spoke at the 17th International Symposium on Electronic Art in Istanbul.
Hutchinson’s visual practice references future events according to a system of cognitive logic, presented as a kind of fake archeological re-enactment – drawings whose historical placing remains unclear.
Based at Bow Arts, London, he has exhibited nationally and his first solo exhibition Brief Encounter took place at the Red Gate Gallery, London in September 2009.
Jack – nice to see you today.
You mentioned a good social media site today for the visual arts. Could you offer details again?
Many thanks
Sam
